Ponta d'Ouro is a beach destination in southern Mozambique. Ponta Do Ouro means the "Place of Gold", named so after the glorious sunrise that you can enjoy from the beach. The town is close to the northern border of South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, though you’ll need a 4x4 to get there.

Scuba diving and snorkelling and popular activities in Ponta. The sea off Ponta is warm and crystal clear and there are many tropical species of fish and invertebrates to look out for. There is also the chance to swim with dolphins and learn more about these fascinating animals. The Maputo Elephant Reserve is just 50km north of Ponto and you can spot some elephants, duiker and small antelope.
