Addo Elephant Park Buffalo

The Addo Elephant National Park was originally proclaimed in 1931 when there were only 11 elephants remaining in the area. Today Addo has over 450 elephants, Cape buffalo, black rhino, leopard, a variety of antelope species. Lions have also been reintroduced. Addo has a great natural diversity, with five of South Africa's seven major vegetation zones (biomes). There are plans to expand the park to include a marine reserve.
