Cape Town:

At the southern tip of Africa, where two mighty oceans meet in the shadow of landmark Table Mountain, lies the fairest Cape in the world. Known locally as the Mother City, Cape

Town is the gateway to the South African winelands and one of the great wine capitals of the world. Here the cultures of Africa, Europe and the East have met and mingled for over 350 years, shaping a city both ancient and modern, rich in l colourful history and culturally diverse. South Africa's vineyards are mostly situated in the Western Cape near the coast, and we do our main tours to Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

Itinerary

8:45am pick up from hostel or hotel. Drive along the N1 highway towards Stellenbosch. En-route we stop at a convenience store to pick up any necessary refreshments or a quick take-away snack/breakfast, if required.

First stop - Villiera Wine Estate. The group spends approximately 2 hours here. At Villiera, clients are lead through the main Cellar and the Champaign Cellar where they are shown the process of winemaking. Their personal guide, Robbie, provides this fascinating information. The group is then lead into the tasting room where Robbie provides further information in the tasting of wine in a very informative and fun way. Robbie will give the clients tips on what to look for and also information about where various types of wine come from.

The tour then continues with a slow drive through the picturesque university town of Stellenbosch, where some of the historical highlights are pointed out. The drive takes the group through Stellenbosch over the famous Hellshoogte pass with views that will leave you breathless.

Halfway to Franschhoek, on the crest of the Hellshoogte pass the group will make their second stop at Tokara. Here, in the wine tasting rooms, the group has panoramic views that wrap around the Stellenbosch basin and stretches all the way to Table Mountain. On a clear day you can see Cape Point...a glorious sight!

The tour then enters Franschhoek, where they will make a quick stop at the French Huguenots Museum and a Belgium Chocolate factory.

13h30 lunch at the Goederust Restaurant just outside of Franschhoek. For lunch you have a choice of approximately 8 dishes, which will also include a drink. Lunch is enjoyed taking in the beautiful mountain views.

After lunch the tour heads for the third wine region of the day called Paarl. En-route we make a stop at the Afrikaans language monument were again you are treated to the most amazing panoramic views in the Cape Peninsular!

Our final stop is at Fairview, where the goats roam! Here you indulge in your 3rd wine tasting session together with their delicious cheeses. A perfect way to end a perfect day!

We then head back to Cape Town with memories of spectacular views, great food, superb wine and brilliant company!
Please note that we reserve the right to change the route without prior notice.

Also note that we only take a maximum of 8 passengers so book early to avoid disappointment!
