Great company

Hey there,
just wanted to write a quick review for Drive Africa, since those guys were always very helpful and friendly. Ive been in South Africa for a year and in the beginning i thought i wouldnt need a car but then i figured its kinda difficult getting around without one. So for the first 4 months i rented a car every now and then. For the first 2 months i was under 21 but Drive Africa was always able to find a car for me although i wasnt in the "right car renters age" yet. After two months i became 21 and i would have been able to book from the big car rental companies directly but i figured Drive Africa always had the better rates and furthermore unlimited kilometers. And even the cross border fees were cheap compared to other rental companies. After renting cars for quite a while Drive Africa asked me if i wouldnt prefer buying a car from them with the buyback offer they have (which basically means that when you leave the country and you want to sell your car again they will buy it back for a fixed amount). We figured that this would actually be the cheaper option for the next seven months instead of renting again and again and i would have my own car all the time. So i did it. I bought a VW Citi Golf from them which was in great conditions and very well looked after (well, i dont know much about cars but i can tell that i never had any trouble with it) and when i left South Africa again a month ago they bought it back to the fixed price - without any trouble at all.
I gotta say that dealing with Drive Africa helped me a lot to make my year unforgettable and i would recommend this company to everybody who is either looking for great car rental rates or a buyback car for the stay in South Africa.

And P.S. They also speak german which was very helpful for me since i every know and then had some trouble understanding the "car rental language";)

 

Car hire under 21 years old

Hey everbody I am Eliza and 20 year old
I am the first time in south africa.

I whas quite supprised as I found Drive Africa!! You can hire a car without a credit card and it dosen't matter if you under 21 years old.

I realy search a lot to find a company how is able to help me althougt I have no credit card.

I totally can recommend Drive Africa and I am realy satisfied with this company.
