George Wilderness Tourism
George is located in the Cape Wildflower Floral Kingdom next to the coast at the eastern end of the Western Cape Province and has a low rainfall Mediterranean type climate with activities to keep you busy all year round. We probably have the largest number of bed-nights accommodation available in this holiday paradise with its large conference facilities and many tourist attractions.

Outeniqua Transport Museum
Experience a day down memory lane, visit the Outeniqua Transport Museum in George before you travel on South Africa's only remaining steam train , the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe Train.
Inside the museum a variety of 13 steam locomotives, including a narrow gauge, the Emil Kessler - Johannesburg's first steam locomotive , the impressive GL Garrett together with carriages from a bygone area, such as a coach from the Royal Train of 1947.
George Museum
Archives the town's history, timber history and the Anglo-Boer War, and has a gift and coffee shop.
Historical Walk
Tours of the historic buildings are held daily from 10:00 - 14:00 starting at the Arts Theatre in York Street. A short walk through town will take you past many interesting and historic buildings. A map of the historical walk is available at the George Tourism Bureau.
Oteniqua Choo-Tjoe
The Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe links two of the largest museums in the Garden Route - the Transnet Heritage Foundation's Transport Museum in George and the Dias Museum.

Botlierskop Game Reserve
Set in the foothills of the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains near Mossel Bay & George, surrounded by the unspoiled beaches of the Indian Ocean, Botlierskop Private Game Reserve ensures a truly unique safari experience. The reserve is situated on a 3000ha game farm and is comprised of over 26 different species of animals and a wide variety of birds. Botlierskop is easily accessible from Cape Town, a 4 hour scenic drive and lies in the world renowned Garden Route, just off the N2.

Garden Route Botanical Gardens
Visit the Garden Route Botanical Gardens at the the entrance to the Garden you are introduced to a wide variety of plants. The planting here are effectively demonstrates how you can make a lovely indigenous to the Southern Cape be they succulent or Fynbos. Tel: +27 (0)44 874 1558
Audrey Moriarty Environmental Centre
