Pete’s Aqualand offers day trips of the lake from Cape Maclear.


Join us for a day packed full of adventure on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Along the way you are sure to see some of the fish eagles that nest on Thumbi Island and as you look into the crystal clear water you will be able to spot one of the many species of fish, all brightly coloured.


We offer day trips to Thumbi or Mumbo island, trips to see the hippos in the wild, fishing trips and trips to some of the best snorkelling waters of the lake including Otter point - here there is even an underwater obstacle course for you to follow as well as rock diving for those that dare.


We also boat around Thumbi island and take you to another great snorkelling spot that is much more secluded from the rest of the Cape.


Other activities available for the energetic include:



  • water skiing

  • tubing

  • wake boarding

  • kyaking

We also hire snorkeling and fishing equipment.


Shuttle Service From Senga Bay/Monkey Bay


Thinking of coming to Cape Maclear? Then why not take the hassle out of your trip down to the lake by travelling on our ferry. Sit back and take in the views while we ferry you across the lake to a destination lodge of your choice in Cape Maclear. We pick-up from either Senga bay or Monkey bay and take you right onto the doorstep of your lodge. Should you want to be picked up from elsewhere, please email us and we will certainly see if we can help.
