Thornhill Safari Lodge Affiliations

Thornhill Safari Lodge offers an affordable getaway with comfortable rooms and excellent facilities in 13 authentic thatch-roof chalets. All bedrooms have en suite facilities, overhead fans, mosquito nets and wooden decks that overlook the lodge, pool area and surrounding bushveld. We have 7 double/twin units, 2 triple units, 2 honeymoon suite and 2 family units which can sleep 4.

Thornhill also offers daily transfers to the lodge departing from Johannesburg and Nelspruit. Located within the Greater Kruger Park, 40km from Kruger Park's Orpen gate and with ever present views of the Drakensburg Escarpment, this area is a premier eco- tourist destination.

Directions to Thornhill Safari Lodge

Take the N4 from JHB / Pretoria. Bypass Witbank and Middelburg, continue onto Belfast. From Belfast travel towards Dullstroom and then on to Lydenburg. From Lydenburg take the R36 to Orighstad and continue straight until you pass through the JG Strijdom Tunnel.

From the tunnel continue for approximately 27 km before turning right at the Reptile Park and continue straight until you reach a sign pointing to Orpen & The South African Wildlife College. Turn left and continue on the R531 for about 1 km.

Turn left onto the first dirt road, sign posted Guernsey.  Pass through the security boom gate. Continue along the dirt road for about 8 km until you see the signpost for The Geurnsey Private Nature Reserve and Thornhill Safari Lodge on your right hand side.

Turn right into a corridor road and travel until you reach the entrance gates to the Guernsey Private Nature Reserve. Follow the wooden signs to Thornhill Safari Lodge.
