I have stayed in Monte Casino Backpackers for about a month. Reason was because of the location. I regret staying here for many reasons. 1. The electricity trips (goes on and off) and NO ONE does a thing about it. 2. There is NO internet access what so ever. The internet is only used my management and they still add that to their adverts. 3.They are many fights with some of the tenants who get drunk. 4.They claim to have a full kitchen but the pots and plates etc are all LOCKED and you have to constantly ask permission to use them. 5. The place looks like an abandoned construction sight. Painting needs to be redone and there are cracks on the floor. & FORGET TV....they have a tiny tv and its impossible to watch because the colour is horrific. I would not recommend you to stay here. This place needs NEW management as well. The recent ones are incompetent to do their job.

I have enjoyed my stay and the hospitality of the staff.The facilities are very good including internet,airport pickup,pool,good advice,safe enviroment and convenient and close to the William Nicol that takes you to many places in Johannesburg.

The Monte Backpackers and Lodge situated in Fourways Johannesburg is one of the cleanest places that i have lived in before.The location of the Backpackers is ideally situated to visit one of the many tourist attractions ie.Lion Park,Cradle of Mankind,Monte Casino,many other Game Lodges and Farms.

This place is disguisting - rooms very cold and damp. Staff completely incompetent. Dirty and disguisting. Booked for two nights - didn't even stay one. Moved to a new lodge immediately.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.
