Get out to the world’s most famous township, Soweto, for a number one ghetto experience! Soweto has a rich history and is safe for everyone.

Walk along vibrant streets, greet people and pick up some township lingo. Join our exciting activities: Soweto tours on bike, tuk-tuk or walking, bungy jump off the cooling towers and visit historical sites and museums. Spend an afternoon in our community park playing with the kids, then cool off in our “beach bar” and enjoy a home cooked meal around the fire.

For another unique experience, book a night at our Homestay with Lebo’s gogo (granny) and listen to her stories about history and life in Soweto.

Directions to Lebo’s Soweto Backpackers

Take the M1 South. Take exit #7 at Booysens Road. At the second traffic light turn left into Mentz Street. Take the second left into Ophir Road. Drive for 11km. Turn left into Carr Street. Take the second right, then the second left. We are on the left hand side opposite the park.
