Abalone Beach House is perched on a forested sand dune and is one of the best whale and dolphin watching spots in the country. It has 360° views of the sea, mountains and forest.

With guesthouse standards at backpacker rates, this is the perfect place to chill on the beach for a couple of days and to use as a base to explore the many attractions of the Garden Route.

Top tip: Take a moonlight stroll on the 8kms of uninterrupted ‘private’ beach (clothing optional!!).

Directions to Abalone Beach House

±6km east of Plett on the N2.  Follow Keurboomstrand signs.  Turn right into Milkwood Glen.  Buzz at the gate to enter.  It’s the tall house on top of the hill

Summer season: (01 Feb to 30 april) - R2800.00 per day

Low season: (01 May to 31 May) - R1800.00 per day

World Cup 2010 season: (01 June to 31 July) - R3800.00 per day

Whale season: (01 Aug to 30 Nov) - R2800.00 per day

TERMS: 50% Deposit to secure your booking. Balance payable 21 days prior to arrival date.
