Born from a passion for travelling, the Happy Hippo has opened its doors!

Situated about 500m from Durban’s best beaches and right next to uShaka Marine World, you couldn’t ask for a better setting. As Durban’s first purpose-built backpacker hostel for discerning budget travellers, we invite you to come and enjoy our fantastic facilities. These include the amazing roof top party and recreational area, known as “The Globe”, a wireless broadband internet café and booking agents.
