Sani Lodge Backpackers Affiliations

Established in 1992 on a farm on the famous SANI PASS, bordering the Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site, Sani Lodge is a unique, owner run (Russell & Simone), tranquil retreat surrounded by awesome mountains with Lesotho on its doorstep - the place poets, artists, photographers and birders dream of.

Hiking trails into nature’s wilderness start from the doorstep. This ‘home away from home‘ is the kinda place to kick off your shoes, enjoy sunsets over the Lesotho mountains from the sundowner verandah and stargaze by night.

Our cosy lounge with open fireplace, tasty homecooked meals, famous chocolate cake, fresh air and water and Simone’s aromatherapy massage ensure you feel holistically energized and refreshed.

We run 17 action-packed eco-tours up Sani Pass into Lesotho, 5 specialised guided hikes, pony treks and rock art tours with Drakensberg Adventures (pg 108).
