33 South is nestled in "OBZ" (Observatory), the bohemian student neighbourhood that is the centre of everything hot and happening! Packed with quaint bars, restaurants of all sizes, atmospheres and flavours, live music venues and so much more, as well as a stone’s throw from the train line, Obz is the place to be.

33 South is a "boutique backpackers" - where travellers can stay in backpacker-style accommodation and enjoy the luxuries of a guesthouse.

Each of our rooms is themed after a culturally rich "Capetonian" neighbourhood so you can choose to spend the night in District 6, the colourful Bo-Kaap, Khayalitsha Shack chic or the cool and breezy Kalk Bay room.

Always fantastic

I have stayed at 33 South every time I visit Cape Town. We first discovered 33 South when Kim discovered us. Love the people here, most welcoming and friendly and full of humour.
This is the most homely, comfortable backpackers I have found in a long while.
