Welcome to the HEART of Africa. The beat of drums pulsates
over the sound of crashing waves and competes with calls
of birds & monkeys. Amapondo nestles in lush coastal
forest, overlooking a river valley and the swimming and
surfing beach.
Amapondo is an ideal base for tours of this
awesome region with its rural villages, authentic sangoma
trance dancing & drumming. The sardine run, whales,
dolphins and the warm Indian Ocean bay make this the perfect
paradise throughout the year.
Enjoy breathtaking waterfalls, coastal hikes
(the Coffee Bay hike starts here), beach horse rides and
sundowners on the cliffs.
Lie in a hammock with an organic veggie juice
or grab a surf lesson or early morning yoga session on the
beach. Relax in the hands of the qualified massage therapist
& reflexologist. Our restaurant specializes in fresh
seafood & will tantalize your taste buds. Drum or fire
dance (lessons & pois available) in our jungle bar or
get down to African township rhythms.
